Amelia
Gannon - aka Gannon - has felt invisible ever since her parents adopted three
young boys from the streets of Guatemala.
She cuts herself as a way of
relieving the stress of everyday life.
She meets Michael Brooks - aka Brooks -
a new guy at her school with blue hair who, rumour has it, has spent time in
juvie.
Brooks is possessive, controlling and Gannon can't get enough of him.
I have
mixed feelings about this book.
I
enjoyed the first part and I felt for Gannon. While I understood why she was
cutting, as we got to see her feelings, I found it sad that she replaced that
addiction with another - Brooks.
I also felt a bit sorry for Gannon's parents
who had no control over the boys they had adopted.
I did
not like Brooks at all. He had issues and dragged Gannon into them. He was too
possesive and controlling.
I lost
interest during the second part of the book, maybe because I knew what was
coming. Gannon also started to annoy me.
Overall
while this was an emotional read I lost interest.
